Situated at the heart of the University of Edinburgh campus, the Bayes Centre is adjacent to the School of Informatics and part of the College of Science and Engineering. Offering access to cutting-edge labs, multi-million-pound research initiatives and technical expertise. This prime location brings together experts from academia, industry and the public sector in data science and AI to tackle practical issues and advance their areas of expertise.

The Bayes Centre is one of six innovation hubs created in partnership with the UK and Scottish Government, the University of Edinburgh and Heriot Watt University to deliver a regional powerhouse for collaboration with industry partners in data driven innovation. The hubs include Edinburgh Futures Institute, Usher Institute, Easter Bush, National Robotarium and the Edinburgh International Data Facility.
£660m investment by the Edinburgh City and Region Deal to cement Edinburgh as the data capital of Europe, led by the University of Edinburgh.

The University of Edinburgh is recognised as the first National Supercomputing Centre by the UK Government. EPCC, which operates the Advanced Computer Facility and houses the nation’s supercomputer, is based at the Bayes Centre and provides world-class supercomputing, data services and facilities for science and business.
The University of Edinburgh received a £750 million investment from the UK Government to build the nation's newest supercomputer.
