BioSS

Industry

Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland (BioSS) develops and applies advanced statistical, mathematical modelling, and bioinformatics methods to address challenges in agricultural, biological, environmental, and social sciences. Formally part of the James Hutton Institute, BioSS is a key partner in the Bayes Centre ecosystem, working alongside the University to improve science and society through a better understanding of variation, uncertainty, and risk. They provide expertise and training in areas ranging from animal health and crop science to marine biodiversity impacts and public health analysis (e.g., COVID-19 wastewater monitoring).
